Weddings! Not just for Grown-ups...

The Wedding Planners series has been part of my life for so many months now, I feel like I'm in constant wedding mode, on the lookout for anything I could use for blog posts, promotion, you name it. Imagine my surprise when the newest Fisher Price catalog arrived in my mailbox (I have three children, two girls and one boy) with their new Little People Wedding Celebration set on the cover! My son wasn't that interested in it (he's 8), but my five year old daughter wanted it. Now!

I started thinking how weddings appeal to females of all ages so I thought I'd share a few more wedding toys I found. These would make fun gifts no matter what the age of your "bride."

This one almost interested my son when he heard the Playmobil name, but I think he would have liked the Victorian Bride and Groom by Playmobil better if the groom was carrying a dueling pistol or sword. Though the top hat got high marks. Girls will love the bride's bouquet. I thought the detail was great including the white spats on the groom. I'm not really sure where these two fits into the sets sold by Playmobil, but this was an unexpected and interesting find.

My kids love stuffed animals and these two cuties are no exception. The Calico Critters Wedding Car Bride & Groom earned another "I want it" from my five year old. My ten year old daughter thought they were adorable. This even intrigued my son. Well, the old fashioned car did! Dog gone cute, that's all I have to say about these critters!

Finally, we have The Bride Barbie. Some toys never change! I had a couple of bride Barbies when I was growing up. My sister and I would put on elaborate weddings using Ken as a groom and a Hostess cupcake for the wedding cake. That was the one time we were really happy Barbies weren't real. More cupcake for us!

Of course, there are also the various bride costumes and accessories. The kids have a few of those in their dress-up box.
