Bouquet Toss

When I saw this LOLcat pic at one of my fave sites icanhascheeseburger.com, I immediately thought about the my book for the Wedding Planners series, SOS Marry Me, as well as my first Silhouette Romance, If the Ring Fits.... Both books end with a bouquet toss though neither bridesmaid was trying this hard to catch it. In fact, neither wanted to catch the bouquet!

I caught the bouquet at a wedding and was the next to get married, but then again it could be all coincidental! Do you think there's anything to the legend/superstition about catching the wedding bouquet or garter?

I don't know if I believe in the legend of the bouquet, but I remember that my florist was upset with me because I tossed my real bouquet rather than a throw away. I think he was offended that I would get rid of something he'd spent so much time on, but I was leaving on a 4-week trip. I figured that someone should at least get a chance to enjoy the flowers since I couldn't take them with me!; July 20, 2009 9:50 AM
Susan said...: Oh my gosh, Melissa! I caught the bouquet at a wedding and met my husband a few weeks later and married him before the year was up!

What was really funny was I whined the whole way out to the dance floor, caught the bouquet and made several bridesmaids angry. I kept saying, "Here. Take the darned thing." But nobody would.

Luckily, I've been married plenty of happy years!
