What Kind of Bride?

All this talk about weddings, the dresses and flowers, has me on pins and needles waiting for Rupert to propose. I really thought it might happen the other night when he'd taken me to L'Espalier, a French restaurant in Boston's Back Bay. Talk about a romantic place! But it didn't happen. Hmmm...I wonder what he's got up his sleeve.

Anyway, I decided to take this quiz since it's only a matter of time until I'm a bride myself.

You Will Be a Traditional Bride!

You're the type of girl who is feminine, old fashioned, and totally traditional.

You've been dreaming of your wedding day since you were young

And you can't wait to be a princess in your big white gown.

It's likely that you'll have a big family wedding and take your husband's name

While a huge affair will be fun, just don't go all Bridezilla about the color of your napkins!

Oh, this is so me! Though I will not go all Bridezilla. With The Wedding Belles to help me, I won't have to!

It's your turn to play! What kind of bride will you be?

Although I am sure I will not ever, ever be a bride again, (shiver, not after what happened before), I took Serena's quiz for fun. It turns out, I would be a modern bride, a blend of old and new, which shouldn't surprise me because that's the kind of cakes I create!

Serena, never fear, Rupert is only a breath away from proposing. He's just a little, er, uh, stuffy?

I've already been a bride, but since my wedding to Dell was rushed I didn't have time to be the bride of my dreams.

If I had, I think I'd be a little quirky, with a short, flirty dress and a really great pair of totally fun shoes! I'd want my bridesmaids to wear something a little unusal and visually interesting (for the photos, you know).

And Serena, when Rupert finally proposes (which he will, you know), I'm not even going to wait for the wedding. I'm going to take some photos then and there and capture that great Serena smile when Rupert tells you that he wants to be your Mr. Right forever.

Serena, never fear, when the time is right, it will be the most romantic proposal for you.

You Will Be an Unconventional Bride!

You're probably the type of girl who never considered getting married - until you met *him*

You're not a big fan of white dresses, church weddings, or cheesy DJ's

That's okay - you'll do it your way... whether that means a Vegas wedding or guys as bridesmen

While you may not toss the bouquet (or have anyone to toss it to), it will still be the most romantic day of your life!

This is so me.

I've barely had time to think since Matt proposed - he proposed! I'm the happiesat girl in the world. I fell in love the moment I literally fell at his feet (don't ask!), but that he loves me too is nothing short of a miracle. I mean, I'm just a girl from the backblocks of Sydney, and he's a McLachlan from one of Boston's best families. Why me? Not that that's why I love him. I didn't even know what a McLachlan was when I looked in his eyes that first day and knew...

Delicious shiver....I'm going to be a bride with the absolute man of my dreams!

I don't know what kind of bride I'll be yet, but I have no doubt of one thing - the best friends I have in the world will help me all the way. They're almost as excited as I am! I don't think I can go fairytale - with my freckles and corkscrew red hair, I look like a walking fire hydrant. No, I'm thinking simple though, just family and beloved friends, in a garden setting. Though the girls have warned me that outdoor weddings can have their hazards!

I just wish my mum could come over now and help me with everything and share in the excitement. Even with my dearest friends being wedding planners - and the best - I feel a bit lonely, and wish she was here, and my sisters. Being an international bride sounds so romantic, but the reality can be a little...

But with my wonderful Matt beside me, how can I be lonely?

Thank you all so much. I feel better! Plus Rupert said he had something very important to talk to me about this weekend. Fingers crossed!

And yes, Nat, he is a little stuffy, but other than that he's just so perfect, the ultimate Mr. Right, I can put up with that!

Seems we have all different kinds of brides here. More fun for me designing their gowns. Especially, you Dru, I can do unconventional :-)

Anyway, thanks again! xoxox

The quiz said I will be a Modern Bride. The description fit pretty well.

There weren't any options for "Never getting married, run far from the church!" I want a new quiz ;-). No surprise, I ended up as the unconventional bride, but I'm going with "un-bride" because the last thing I want to be is a bride! I'll let Serena have all that fun! :-)
