Wedding in a snow globe!

Like so many people today, one young couple last year had to make some tough choices, use their money to buy a house or pay for their wedding. They opted for the house, but one day when the bride was listening to a radio show, she heard about a special contest and she entered.

The prize? An all expenses paid wedding. The catch (or the bonus, depending on your viewpoints)? The wedding would take place in the Chicago Thanksgiving Day Parade in the McDonald's Snow Globe!

Here's the video:

It's definitely a wedding day that won't be forgotten soon.

Just a note: I'm running multiple contests this Christmas at my website (when one ends the next one begins), but if you leave a comment on the blog this week (today through Friday the 28th), I'll automatically enter you in the current contests.

Have a happy Thanksgiving, week, everyone!

This post brings to mind a Christmas movie that was on last hight--"The Snow Globe". Did anyone but me see it?

Being a very, very shy and private person I couldn't do this, but I find the idea very neat!

My wedding we didn't even plan. We just made a date with Pastor and got married during the church service. Different couples decided to sing songs and dedicate them to us. There was a prayer circle for Ron with deacons praying and one for me where deacons wives prayed. I borrowed a long dress from my sister I had always wanted. We asked two friends to sign wedding certificate and stand up with us. We had communion together as a couple. People look at my wedding pictures and love it.
For my daughters wedding we had a cook out for the reception. It cost us $ 60 to fix polish sausage, hamburgers, potatoes salads and such. Everyone enjoyed it because it was so relaxed.
On our 25th we had a cook out too. My oldest daughter sang all the songs she had sung in church and they were so special to us. We did a tribute to both Mom's. Ron's is gone now - July 2006.
We've been married 29 years.
God bless - I love your books, website, etc.

Brandy, isn't it great that we get to see other people do these neat things? (I'm with you. The wedding in a snow globe wouldn't be for me, but I still love it).

And squiresj, that is one of the best wedding stories I've heard. What wonderful weddings! And a wonderful anniversary, too.

Thank you so much for sharing the story of your wedding and marriage. The kinds of messages all of you send here (the touching, the funny, the way you help me see things from a different angle) are extra blessings to me as a writer and just as a person. I love writing the stories that speak to my heart, and being able to meet with other people who share their stories and their experiences...there just aren't words for how awesome and special that is. Thank you.

Here's an interesting way to finance your wedding without
a) asking your parents for money
b) asking for a bank loan.

http://www.weddingfinancialsolutions.com/blog/?p=13

There's a video on it there.

You can get a complete wedding package for under $3000, including your wedding reception (wherever you want it), limousines, caterers, wedding planner.

Bilston Wedding Financial Solutions

It's a new system ,better than ay wishing well or gift registry.

The writer of this blog DEFINITELY needs to look at the site.

All the best,

Greg
