Ring Exchange Fail...

I came across this video on YouTube. Embedding was turned off, so you'll have to click here to watch it.

Oh, my! Could you imagine if you were that bride? Of course, I'm sure the best man felt horrible. But how would you ever make up for what you did????

Here's what I want to know...

1) What do you think happened next?
2) Will they laugh about this in the years to come?

Tell me what you think in the comment section and I'll pick a winner from those who do on Sunday, October 12th. The winner will receive a $5 Amazon gift certificate!

Yes the best man would feel horrible, so would the drenched bride and the celebrant. But I couldn't help laughing my head off (horrible I know). That is one wedding where people would ALWAYS remember. Hey you gotta laugh.... I hope they just exchanged rings and got on with it. After all isn't marriage to have ups and downs..... might as well get some of the downs out of the way during the ceremony *g* And hey a platform with a step over a swimming pool... call me cynical but I remember O'Toole's theory (that Murphy was an optimist) -- LOL!!!

Good grief!!! That's just...um. Yeah. Would you laugh or cry? In years to come, definitely they'd be laughing - so long as they stay married. Otherwise they might see it as a sign for things to come!

I would be laughing, quietly of course, unless the bride is laughing as well.

I bet the wedding went on as plan and it actually would have been funny if the others in the wedding party decided to get in the water as well and make it a water wedding.

I think they'll laugh every time they see the video.

I would strangle him. Period.

At my sister's wedding, the best man couldn't find Tammy's ring. It was an eternity band. All diamonds. So if he lost it, we definitely would have had to punish him. LOL

For two minutes he searched pockets and apologized. But he's such a goofy guy we thought it was a joke. Finally, the groom's mother took her ring off and handed it to Steve to use to take his vows.

Pete later found the ring in his jacket pocket. A pocket he'd searched at least seven times. It wasn't in a box, so it had hidden in a corner...

They may laugh years later, but I'm pretty sure I'd have to at least punch him...once. Maybe twice. Hard.

Dru, I'm with you. It would have been perfect if other people had jumped in, too, so that the bride wouldn't be the only soggy one. I just can't help wondering what she wore for the rest of the day. And think about how long you search for the perfect dress...

I feel terrible but I'm sitting here giggling. So bad!

I hope they went ahead with the ceremony. Maybe they added "In wetness or dryness, till death do us part..."

:-)

The sound wasn't working for me but you didn't really need it. I keep thinking of the rest of the pictures!!!!! And the groom should have at least jumped in too lol. I wonder if the ring fell in? I'm sure the best man felt horrible and it was an accident so I guess you just had to laugh since the damage was done. The good news is that everyone will always remember that wedding.

I also laughed when seing the video, but I am not sure the bride did! What happens next... let the show go on!

I am sure they would be laughing at it in the future, and every wedding has something bizarre happening anyway!

I think they went ahead and continued with the ceremony. They probably laughed about the incident and hopefully made the best man feel less embarrassed about the incident.

OH NO! I gasped so loud, my DD heard me upstairs from the shower! LOL...

I think the pastor deserves kudos for jumping in after her, and I want to know WHY THE GROOM DIDN'T JUMP IN??????

What kind of "hero" IS HE? HUH???

Sheesh.

At least the wedding will be memorable. *G*

At that moment and probably a few days after, the bride probably burst into tears. I would hope after that she saw the humor in the situation. I'm sorry but as an observer, that was hilarious!

I also wondered what the groom was thinking when he just watched!!

My cousin once fell in the pool, and her husband jumped after her... we all thought it was kind of romantic :-)

OH MY GOODNESS!!! is all I can keep thinking. The poor best man is the one I feel horrible for. I think maybe he quickly faded out of the couple's life as I would feel like doing had it been me.

I am sure they'll laugh over this in years to come.

I'm very strongly wondering how they dealt with the picture taking afterwards - her hair, her wet dress...

I think they got on with the wedding and perhaps the minister made some joke about it.

Now, now people, you aren't looking at it right at all. The best man had been secretly in love with the bride for years. He tried to be best man to his best friend but NO!, a Freudian slip occurred. When the minister, rather than the groom jumped in after the bride (who almost drowned because her dress was made of embroidered taffeta, encrusted with diamonds, and weighed her down), she took a moment and realized, the groom didn't truly care about her. She left to supposedly dry off but, in reality, got in her car, drove to a remote retreat in New Mexico, where ultimately the best man found her, pledged his undying love, and they got married in the arid desert, not a pool or pond to be found!

;-)

Peace, Julie

LOL. I think I like Julie's twist the best!! That would make quite the book, LOL!

That was hilarious, Melissa! I hope it didn't really happen (like that one with the haircut that was a setup video). It's just too awful!

Though there was a wedding on Dr. Phil where the deck collapsed and half the guests and bride and groom all fell into a pool. Lots of people got hurt and everything. The bride was totally traumatized. Until Dr. Phil gave her a second wedding for free ;-)
